Like an adage that says, *one good turn deserves another*. The General Overseer of the Dream Centre, Life Oasis International Church, Rev’d Olusola Areogun has been applauded *for leading by example in the State of Osun for displaying uncommon traits worthy of emulation for his exemplary voluntary tax compliance*.
*The Chairman/Chief Executive Officer, Osun Internal Revenue Service, Prince Adegbite Ademikanra*, showered *the encomium on him on behalf of the Governor* of the State of Osun, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola during a courtesy visit to the Dream Centre Headquarters situated at km.4, Gbongan- *Ibadan* Expressway.
According to him, the courtesy visit was to show utmost appreciation of the Government to him for being a *vanguard of virtue and epitome of peace in the religious sectors of the state as* shown in his voluntary compliance to *prompt payment of his taxes as and when due*
In his further explanation on the type of taxes payable by religious bodies, Prince Adegbite Ademikanra said, they *are only required to remit the PAYE deducted from staff salaries on monthly basis and taxes from total emoluments of leaders of religion organisation, he also added that religious organizations are collecting agents for Withholding Taxes (WHT) of all services rendered to their organisations by third parties*. This according to him, was misconstrued to *mean* taxing religious places of worship. The information which he described as not only lacking merit but also capable of misguiding the general public.
The Osun Internal Revenue Service helmsman, Prince Adegbite Ademikanra then, used the occasion to reach out to religion leaders in the state to follow *the good examples laid by Rev’d Olusola Areogun*.
In his response, the General Overseer of the Dream Centre, Life Oasis International Church, Rev’d Olusola Areogun described the step taken by the team on revenue generation to pay him a visit as a welcome one.
He said, he chooses to be *altruistic in fulfilling all the righteousness in accordance with the directive and guidance of almighty God*.
Rev’d Olusola Areogun therefore, urged the government through Osun Internal Revenue Service to intensify *efforts at educating* all the religious bodies through their *various organizations with a view to briefing them on type of taxes payable by persons called to such religious bodies in order to guide against misinformation*.
